Shadow Movement V2 – Version 2 Concept

In the 1st version of the wall clinging system, I worked out the basics of how it would go from surface to surface. In version 2 I will attempt to refine this, along with adding new features that makes it’s use practical for play.

prototype_03The most important new feature will be the input orientation reference. As it is now, the direction the shadow avatar moves is based on its local direction(like steering a car). This quickly becomes disorienting from a fixed, 3rd person perspective so instead I want to change its inputs to act as if it was pivoting, around the camera. This will make controlling and moving the player character substantially more intuitive for the player.
