Grid Editor – Slot Borders

A small point but one worth noting, when planning my greybox assets I decided to go from a single floor piece with surrounding walls only taking up a single unit, to them taking up seven.

FullSizeRender (1).jpgThe reason for this is that by splitting each component this way, it is easier to reuse pieces, requires less unique models and will make checking surrounding tiles easier down the line. If I had to place these pieces manually this would drastically increase the time needed to construct a scene, but the advantage of this system is I won’t have to. This is just one pro of this tools set up.
