Continuing work with the low poly model for the bird mask and have done a quick test with normal mapping along the creases at the edge of the leather. As you can see in the images here, while there is a bit of a distortion due to the uv mapping, the actual normal map does succesful give the illusion of depth that is needed. Once I clean up the polys and do a proper map I will test this again but it’s seems like it’s heading in the right direction for now.
