It was decided that we wanted to show more of the surrounding underground in our level and have the library be in a more run down state so I was asked to do a redesign of the area our game takes place in.
Above are my initial sketches based on the perimeters given to me by the designer.

The polished concept of the new area design. This version of the level area has gone from a tall tower to a dilapidated two story building, though the sense of scale lost by not having a tall structure, is replace by seeing the vast scale of the cave interior through the gaps in the columns and ceiling.
