The final owl model 11 hours in at day 4 of working on it. I have switched my workflow to Blender for the remainder of the modelling and texturing of this model as of today.
I did quite a bit of the model in Maya to get a feel for the software, and I plan to do more, non-course based, learning models over the year to get more proficient with the software, but for now i’ll be continuing on in blender for the sake of quality and speed(since I have years of experience with it).
I’ve almost got all the base shapes of the model done, once i’ve done the few that remain I will use the feather and pads from the bust models texture to rough out the texture based shapes for model and then start doing the final texture itself. After that i’ll do any final tweaks to the shape and then starting proper rigging.
