This is quite the deviation from the last few spirit designs but is also, potentially, the one I think I may like the best so far. Again adapting the owl spirit design, this time I have gone for giving it a more physical, biological look, similar to how spirits are depicted in Studio Ghibli films and in the first series of ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’.
Seeing as we are drawing largely from Shinto folklore for our game I feel this spirit suits that setting quite well. From my research Shinto mythical creature were considered not so much as supernatural beings but as simply other creatures living in the world. Because of this most depictions of them reflect that by making them physical, biological, creature and not other realmy ghost.
